Historic Baseball Fields in Panoramic Maps
This website is a repository of historic pictures of American baseball fields. These pictures are found on panoramic maps, in which small details are meticulously drawn, including, in most cases, the players on the field.
When I was a kid, I spent hours sifting through books on old baseball fields and then designing my own ball parks. I loved the Polo Grounds, Shibe Park, Ebbets Field, etc. I loved the way the places sat within the community, using up whatever open space was available. I loved the way they were enclosed and yet open. Thanks for posting this resource. It's cool to see some of the older parks that I didn't even know existed.
