Delicacy
I'm not sure why David won't just come out and say that James crossed a line with his criticism of Gary. David says "be accountable" but isn't the corollary to that "hold people accountable?"

Because then he'd have to link to James Farmer, or at acknowledge that he wrote something...
There's two things happening here. Only one part of it is about the web 2.0 debate. The other part is about who is linking to (and referring to) whom.
You can't have an elite if you keep acknowledging the rabble.
I don't know... I think it is more an overactive sense of propriety.
I left a comment confessing my sins, and also a link... we'll see if he lets it be.
