It is difficult to create a safe and orderly school when there are adults in the school community who are acting out in an angry and scary manner. The presences of several of these parents in a school would impede the success of any school reform effort. This is an obstacle that is often ignored by the reformers who proclaim the slogan of “Make No Excuses.”
Indeed, how are these parents handled in a "no excuses" school?

State of California allows for a short term retraining order that a site admin can implement without going to police or court. It's part of ed code. In my experience, different admins take different approaches at both low and high-end schools.Last admin NEVER used these, and a hostile parent made him re-double his efforts to be their friend (no joke). I've worked with other admins that "abused" this power, and wrote them out when they got questions they didn't like from a parent.
