There Can Be No Stability for the PPSD Under SIG

Elisabeth Harrison:

“People say if it doesn’t kill you it makes you stronger, and I think they have come out of this stronger,” Duncan continued. “Great new superintendent, great union leader, strong board, and I’m very hopeful that Providence with some stability can significantly improve student achievement.”

We can't do 3, 4, 5 or more turnarounds a year forever. Did anyone try to explain that?

Also, "strong board?" They can't even show up!

Unless United Providence! does something truly remarkable. That is, function as an organization.

There are, what, nine schools that are under a turnaround model right now? Three under restart (UP!), two under turnaround, and the remaining under transformation.

Say five more get labeled PLA (feasible). What are the options? Only two (three?) of those can operate under transformation. Turnaround is as politically unpopular as it is arbitrary.

So you can close the school or restart it under UP!. UP! is the great hope.
