Apropos of Will's regularly scheduled handwringing, I'm feeling like a little community Future Problem Solving might be genuinely helpful. I mean, the level of wheel-spinning in the K-12 ed-tech blogosphere is indicative of a failure to define your problem correctly -- something FPS taught me to do before I hit puberty.
The first step would be to define what they used to call the "fuzzy situation."
So, my challenge is this: write a paragraph defining not the problem itself, but just the "topic." Use these for examples of the desired structure and style.
Also, since nobody reads this blog, if you think this is an interesting idea, you might mention it on your own blog.

I read this (your) blog all the time.
It's one of the few blogs about education and technology that isn't full of fluffy crap.
I'm amazed how Sturgeon's law has to be revised for edublogs, as well over 90% of them are disposable nonsense.
You know it's a bad day when you read an edublogger blogging about a talk they attended where people were talking about edublogging. You know it's an even worse day when 20 edubloggers then leave positive comments to the post about the talk about the blog about the....
Must be a quote out there somehow about how contrarians must suffer before either (a) dying unhappy (b) being proved right (c) being proved right on their death bed and still dying unhappy, etc
On reading some of the comments on Wil's site this thought occurred and won't go away, despite my resolution not to be sardonic --> being stuck in an echo chamber is bad but hearing the echo, "we are stuck in an echo chamber, what can we do" would be even worse
I thought the FPS was another echo chamber of sorts, with lots of politically correct assumptions.
So, pass.
